Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, used to generate electricity, have an average life of 20 to 40 years, and panels installed going back to the 1980's are ageing out. Many contain lead, cadmium, and other toxic chemicals that can leach into the soil if not properly disposed.
Keep PV solar panels out of our landfills by bringing them to Mr. K's for convenient, responsible and certified recycling.
Certified Electronics Recyclers
Mr. K's works with end-destination recyclers that are certified by one or both of two accredited certification standards for electronics recognized by the EPA, which includes regular compliance audits by an independent, accredited, third-party auditor:
Panels should be intact. Any damaged panels will be evaluated by Mr. K's for acceptability.
"Mini solar panels," such as those on parking lot lights, can be received. Check with Mr. K's office staff.
