IT Recycling Staff - PT
Job Summary:

The IT Recycling Staff engages with customers, manages e-waste recycling, and promotes sales through online and other marketing venues.

- Roy Kadota, Owner
Schedule:
- 16 - 30 hours per week (on average); Full-Time also available.
- 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., available for shifts Sundays through Saturdays
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Categorize and process e-waste throughout the day, including weighing and logging.
- Keep the work and display area clean, orderly, safe, and compliant.
- Assist with HI-5 sorting and scrap metal processing as needed.Interact with customers to connect them with parts, components or whole units for purchase, as well as advise them on Mr. K’s recycling and other services.
- Diagnosing and repairing computers and laptops brought in by customers, including data destruction of hard drives upon request.
- Promoting items for sale online and through other avenues as appropriate.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to provide excellent customer service, in person, over the phone, and online.
- Knowledgeable about the company’s products and services, and customer-related policies.
- Ability to follow rules and safety guidelines, and to work cooperatively with others.
- Pass a background check on an annual basis or as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with electronic equipment, particularly trouble-shooting computer issues, basic repair/refurbishing.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting when repairing or checking items, and some periods of prolonged standing outdoors when helping with HI-5 sorting.
- Must be able to perform physical labor including reaching, bending, grasping, pulling, climbing, and lifting.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds at a time, observing proper lifting and carrying procedures.
- Must be able to read labels on materials to determine redemption eligibility and to categorize accurately.
